Windowing to improve image contrast

Postby kolab » Sat Dec 16, 2017 11:31 am

I'm looking at some tiff images in omero and a few pixels seem to have much higher intensities than most of the other pixels in the image. The dynamic range of the image is quite large and unfortunately it is difficult to see the content of the image. I could not find any facility to 'window' the image in order to improve contrast. Does this exist in omero? Also are there ways to improve the contrast of the image in omero?

Thanks
K

Hi,
Yes, both the web client and Insight allow you to adjust the rendering 'window'.

For example, see the Preview tab when you select an image in the webclient (screenshot attached).
Each channel has a 2-knob slider to adjust the window.

More info is available on our Help site, e.g. http://help.openmicroscopy.org/viewing-data.html

Regards,

Will
