Cannot login with insight using oracle 8 java [solved]

Cannot login with insight using oracle 8 java [solved]

I cannot login to my omero server when using
/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle/bin/java (default)

but when I change "OMEROinsight_unix.sh" to use
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk-amd64/bin/java

it works.

Using /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64/bin/java also doesn't login.

Hi,

could you give us more information about the versions of Java and the version of the OMERO.server you are trying to connect to? From your description, it looks like the connection issue could be related to the Java security upgrade which was released in the summer.

Yes, Server is a bit older, OMERO.server-5.0.8-ice35-b60

That would also explain why it worked a few months back (with matching clients) and now suddendly didn't (also not with matching/older client). I'll try upgrading the server
