Windows 10

Postby hflynn » Wed Jul 29, 2015 1:10 pm

Dear All,

As many of you know, Microsoft is now upgrading Windows systems to Windows 10. This upgrade is a bit subtle—the package is labeled as an “Update for Microsoft Windows". It’s a completely new OS.

We will not be testing OMERO or Bio-Formats on the new Windows 10 OS for the next few weeks and would strongly discourage upgrading if you depend on OMERO or Bio-Formats. If you do upgrade, it is at your own risk, and we can’t provide any help or support for this.

You can find full details of which Windows systems we support on http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/supp ... ments.html, including current plans for what we'll support in our next major release of OMERO.

Just as an aside, please do careful with your imaging systems. Zeiss (http://blogs.zeiss.com/microscopy/news/ ... indows-10/) and 3i have contacted users stating that this upgrade will break their systems. There may be others.

Thanks for your patience and support,

The OME Team
