Unforsseen Error Omero.insight_64 5.2.0 Windows 7

Postby jsluka » Thu Jul 14, 2016 4:39 pm

My previous version of Omero.insight (5.1.2) worked fine on my Windows 7 system. Our server recently migrated and I need 5.2.0. Downloaded the 5.2.0 distribution and when I launch OMERO.insight_64.exe (or the 32 bit version) it crashes with an "An unforseen error occured, the application will exit. ..." message.

error.log has:
Abnormal termination due to an uncaught exception.

It seems that Insight is missing an essential library. Maybe the file is damaged. Can you download and extract it again? I'd recommend that you use the latest version (5.2.4), this will work with any 5.2.x server.
Which Java version do you use by the way?

The 5.2.4 version appears to work. I'm using Java 8.91, or perhaps several Java's since various packages tend to download their own :(

That's good to hear, thanks for your feedback. I still suppose that there went something wrong with the download/extraction process before. But it's better to use the latest version anyway :)
