OMERO
Currently in Beta3 release, OMERO is a java-based server/client system for visualising, managing, and annotating microscope images and metadata, and is separated into several components:
- OMERO.server, which supports several remote cross-platform Java clients and is the groundwork application in the OMERO software line.
- OMERO.webadmin, this is a web browser-based server admin tool, that replaces the functionality available in the OMERO.admin client application. It is included with the OMERO.server distribution.
- OMERO.insight (developed from "Shoola"), the client application used to view, categorise, and annotate images from an OMERO server.
- OMERO.importer, which can read a wide range of image file formats and upload them into the OMERO server.
- OMERO.editor, a standalone tool for scientists to record experimental metadata.
All OMERO software is provided in easy to install bundles for most operating systems.

Please note that we have removed the automatic installers for OS X. This is because of major differences between installation scripting on OS X 10.4 and 10.5. This will return once OS X has stabilised. For help on OMERO.server installation, please see our OMERO installation page.
