Olympus OIR file for FV3000

Postby dgarneau » Fri Mar 10, 2017 2:27 pm

Hi,

Is there any plan to support the Olympus oir file format generated by the FV3000 soon in bioformats and Omero ? That would be really nice. I know there is another question in the forum about this but it looks like there is no update for almost a year so I was curious about the status of this request.

Thank you,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

thanks for your question. The addition of support for the Olympus OIR format is still captured as a request for extension either in this Trac ticket or in this Trello card.

There is no immediate plan to support this format for the upcoming OMERO 5.3.x series. We will review the state of our new file formats board in the following months and start prioritizing the next generation of formats we would consider for inclusion in Bio-Formats and OMERO. If things evolve until then, we will update the ticket and card accordingly.

Best regards,
Sebastien

Hi Daniel,

There is an alternative ImageJ plugin specified for olympus .oir files.

http://imagej.net/OlympusImageJPlugin

You could use it to load .oir files onto ImageJ before the Bio-Formats releases the supported version.

Best,

Following up on this topic, Olympus OIR is now supported by Bio-Formats since the 5.5.0 release.
