Hi,
I would like to have the option of more than one sheet of paper per project. Currently I am analyzing images from the same experiment and I need to keep saving then in diferent files as there is only one page available.
Another thing that I need is to write down comments. So It could be ideal to insert a text box and type those things.
I hope it is possible to improve the program and insert theses tools.
Cheers,

Marilia

Hi Marilla,

I assume you're talking about OMERO.figure?
I'm trying to think how to support what you need without a lot of work...

You can easily increase the amount of panels etc that you put on a single Figure, to simulate 2 or more pages. E.g. imagine that the figure is more like a poster, with multiple smaller figures on it. Just try shrinking the size of panels and text. You can also increase the size & shape of the sheet (under File > Paper setup) so you don't have to make the text so small.

I understand that this isn't exactly what you're asking for, but hopefully it'll help. Do you need to export your 'sheets' to separate pages of PDF, to make separate figures on export?
One other option that would support this is to simply open OMERO.figure in multiple tabs or windows of your browser at once and edit them simultaneously side by side. This should work fine and might get you what you need?

Adding text labels or text boxes to the figure is a feature that is on my list of things to do, so I'll add your request to the ticket.

Thanks for your feedback. Let me know if the suggestions are any help or if I've missed something.

Cheers,

Will.

Hi Marilla,

I wanted to get more input on the "multiple pages" feature you suggested.

Is there a limit on the number of pages you'd like in a figure? E.g. 2? 5? 10?
Do you care about how they are laid out. E.g. if you wanted 4 pages, would they simply adopt a 2 x 2 layout? Would 3 pages be in a line, or 2 side by side and 1 below?
Or do you want to be able to choose a layout?

Thanks,

Will.

You can see a screenshot of the multi-page figure support at https://github.com/will-moore/figure/pull/39. It'll be in the next release of OMERO.figure.

The OMERO.figure upgrade on nightshade means that multi-page figures are now available.

See the full release changes and demo video at http://will-moore.github.io/figure/2015 ... 1.1.0.html
