Import from server

Dear Omero Team,
I'm a new user of Omero! I'm mainly working on Ubuntu 16.04 and unfortunately I cannot find a way on how to import microscopy images with omero.insight directly from the server (so I always have to save the files locally and then upload). It would save me some time to avoid the intermediate step.
I'm able to do so on Windows but as I said I have the need to use Ubuntu.

Thank you!!
Rachele

I understand that you would like to run OMERO.insight locally on your desktop, but import files that are on the same machine as the OMERO server. That's not possible.

If you have access to the server, we'd suggest using the command-line for importing. See https://docs.openmicroscopy.org/omero/5.4.9/users/cli/import.html for more information.

The Windows machine is the server in question?

All the best,
