CellSens format (.vsi) file and physical pixel size

Postby kazak » Thu Mar 19, 2015 5:33 pm

Hello everybody,

I use ome.xml.meta.MetadataRetrieve getPixelsPhysicalSizeX() on a .vsi file and it returns null, whereas it works fine with a .svs file.

It looks like this feature is not available on this particular format.

Does someone knows if it is technically possible or planned in a future release?

Thank you

Gilles

Hi Gilles,

you are correct. Bio-Formats 5.0.x does note read the physical pixels size from the .vsi format as documented here.

However, the upcoming Bio-Formats 5.1.0 should add support for the physical pixel size as well as many many other metadata fields.

Best,
Sebastien
