big image ROIs

I am testing OMERO with a couple of imported SVS images. Does OMERO support the creation of ROI's for big images, such as SVS? When I view the image with the insight client it does not appear to be the case that I can create ROI. I have also imported a normal smaller jpg which I have not been able to test yet because the server seems to take a very long time to process the SVS images before they are viewable so my jpg image is still in the que

We turned off the ROI function in 4.3.x, we only make the changes at the visualization level i.e. tiles based viewer. We will be turning the functionality back as soon as the measurement tool support tiling.

When a "big images" is imported, we build an image pyramid that builds multiple mosaics of images, each one at a different zoom level. Depending on the size of the file, it can take some time.
