Viewer very slow

the viewer is very slow when you open 1024*1024 tif´s and scroll the timeline or z-line. it´s the same on the server and on the clients. --> the network ist fast enough.
When you open 512*512 tif´s it´s work fine. when you open 1024*1024 tif´s the speed depends on the zoomfactor.

Scaling performance of bigger (1024x1024 and larger) images is certainly not ideal at present. The OMERO.insight team is currently working on OpenGL based viewer technology to improve this which will be released with OMERO Beta 4.1.

So, what you're seeing is unfortunately just how it is right now.

Thx. Are you going to support importing avi´s? And is it possible to download the orginal files from server without archiving the file? (by archiving we need the double drivespace) Or is it possible with the "insight-client" to save tif´s with more as one frame?

Our intention with OMERO Beta 4.1 is to support importing a limited set of AVI codecs, yes. It is not possible to download/export the original files from the server without archiving in OMERO Beta 4.0.x but it will be possible in OMERO Beta 4.1 to export an image as OME-TIFF.
