OMERO VM and Compiling from Source

Is the OMERO virtual appliance "ready" for compiling omero from source code and if not, do you have an appliance for such purpose?

Hi Ivan,

We currently only support compiling the source on a designated developer machine. There is no VM that would come bundled with the source code repository. You could of course connect via SSH to your Virtual Appliance and set up a dev environment there, but be aware that the VM has a limitation on the physical resources it can use.

Bottom line: for a quick and painless compilation, I'd recommend doing it on the host system. Our documentation provides useful resources:
