Reference coordinate system

Postby bernhard » Mon Dec 07, 2009 9:41 am

Hi all!

I'd like to know if there's a place to store information about a reference coordinate system in the OME model (in particular in the Omero database). The most important use case is for example for image stitching, when one does not know whether the x/y coordinates of the image written by the instrument are with respect to a left or right-handed frame. Even if this information is not present in the original file, we'd like to be able to store the information (which we might guess from the instrument type) in the database for image processing.

Thanks! Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,

There is not a place to store reference coordinate system or in fact, origin. This is assumed to be top-left. I've moved this into the model discussion to get a little added discussion. A ticket is also now available to track some of the progress on decision making regarding coordinate system, origin, etc.:
