If you don't know what it is you should turn it off.

I found a good page using Google: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightweight_Directory_Access_Protocol. However, if you don't know what LDAP is, you most likely don't want it. As I suggested yesterday, remove the LDAP settings which you added and disable it.

While the LDAP settings in your configuration are wrong, this does not solve your original problem of the python processes not running. One discrepancy I saw was an error in the screenshot of the logs that D:\OMERO\Image did not exist. But in your "omero config get" output, the directory is C:\OMERO. I'm not sure where (or if) D:\OMERO exists (or if this is related to OMERO, since the log just mentions a service called "Server"), but it might be worth making sure that D:\OMERO and D:\OMERO\Image exist and are directories (folders).

Given the difficulty of diagnosing what's going wrong using the forum, if you you have any IT support within your institution who could assist you directly with investigating the cause of your problems, this is likely to result in much faster resolution of the problems you've encountered setting up OMERO.

Regards,
Roger

Do you have an LDAP server at your institution? If so, then you could configure OMERO to use LDAP. You'll need to obtain the appropriate configuration settings from your IT people--we don't know anything about the specifics of your institution's servers.

However... your original problem was to do with python processes not running. The LDAP issue is probably a completely separate issue, and one which you can defer until you've got OMERO running properly. I would suggest ignoring LDAP for now (just disable it, as suggested), and work on indentifying which bits are not working, and why, and fix them first. Once OMERO is running correctly, you can come back to configuring LDAP.

Your LDAP is not activated but this is OK. You do not need it.

Do you have any other problems?

Can you run scripts now or are you still getting errors?

I don't know if you've tried this already, but this can sometimes help you to get scripts running.

On the command line:

Code: Select all
bin\omero admin ice "server stop Processor-0"

Hope that helps
