OME-TIFF export filename

Postby ppouchin » Wed Jul 06, 2011 10:20 am

Hi,

A new version of Imaris was available, and I wanted to see if it was - at last - compatible with OME-TIFF files exported from OMERO...

And the answer is yes, it is (but other softwares will never be...).
However, the actual filename needs to match the filename in the XML data... Therefore, when I want to open an image exported from OMERO, I have to rename it to __omero_export_*.ome.tiff (the double "f" is important too).

Would there be another way around ?

Unfortunately this sounds like a bug in Imaris. As the user is able to modify the name of the resulting TIFF to their heart's content developers cannot rely solely on the contents of the <UUID> block's filename attribute and this is why it also has the filename's UUID included. Our intention is to do better about setting this filename string by default in newer versions of OMERO.

That's what I thought, since the other softwares never complain about the filename...
Thank you for your answer.
