ROIs with OME.TIFF

Postby mmoulis » Fri Jul 22, 2011 10:02 am

Hi!

I just try to make some ROIs in a imported OME.TIFF file. I exported this file and when I tried to import this file again, i didn't retrieve my ROIs.

And yet i have seen that a XML schema was designed to handle ROIs.

So my question is : Does the exportation of OME.TIFF files keep ROIs ? If so, why it doesn't work for me ? I have OMERO.server & OMERO.clients 4.3.0.

Kind regards,

Marius

Hi Marius,

Unfortunately ROIs are not included in the OME-tiffs exported from OMERO. The only reason this feature is missing is because we haven't had time to implement it yet (and because we haven't had a lot of people ask for it, so it has not been top priority).

Now that you've asked for it, the priority is a lot higher!

One obstacle is that there is some divergence between the modelling of ROIs in OMERO and OME data model, due to practical reasons. Fixing this has been ticketed:
https://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/4317

All export tickets are listed here https://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/3535
And I've just created a new one for ROI export http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/6319

I'm afraid I can't give you any idea how long it is before we get this done,

Apologies for that,

Will

Ok no problem!

We will wait for new release of OMERO.

Thanks a lot for the ticket!
