omero in production using docker

Postby greg » Thu May 09, 2019 1:56 am

I'm wondering where to find resources that document the best practices with regards to running Omero-web in production using Docker. So far, this seems to be the best resource I've come across:

https://github.com/hadim/docker-omero

However, this project seems to be outdated, last updated two years ago.

Is there any official OME resources that document how to maintain an Omero-web environment using docker including full lifecycle maintenance between upgrades?

Hi Greg,

The main docker images that receive regular support are:

Additionally, we're collecting various deployment examples under https://github.com/ome/omero-deployment-examples. The three-nodes docker-compose.yml is likely a good place to start.

We don't release specific docker update information with each release. When migrating from one OMERO minor release (like 5.3) to another (like the current 5.4), you would need to follow the standard migration documentation, e.g. regarding database upgrades. That being said, the migration to the upcoming OMERO 5.5 should be quite straight-forward since it's a more developer focused release.

Let us know if you have any questions.
