Unit of length in ome tiff

Postby felix gorny » Tue May 28, 2013 12:27 pm

Hi guys,

I wonder if the ome tiff specifies its values (e.g. PhysicalSizeX="0.1069652") with a unit of length?
I couldn't find anything concerning this topic neither in the specifications, in this forum nor in ome tiff files.
Or is it micrometer by definition?

Thanks & regards,
felix

Hello Felix,

It is in microns.
http://www.openmicroscopy.org/Schemas/D ... sicalSizeX

The units or [units:none] is listed in the annotation on each value. The full list is here:
http://www.openmicroscopy.org/Schemas/D ... 6/ome.html

Hope this helps,

Andrew
